Upcoming road closures on Canterbury Road & Sandyhurst Lane

We have been advised of the following upcoming road closures.

Urgent Road Closure - Canterbury Road, Boughton Aluph - 27th September 2024 (Ashford)

It will be necessary to close Canterbury Road, Boughton Aluph from 27th September 2024 for up to 1 night.

The road will be closed approximately 500 Metres. Between the hours of 19:00 - 05:00.

The alternative route is via: A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Ashford Road, A252 Maidstone Road, A252 The Street, A251 Buck Street and A2042 Faversham Road.

This is to enable carriageway repairs to be carried out by Kent County Council. Enclosed is a copy of the Traffic Notice in confirmation of this.

Openreach - Temporary Road Closure - A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington & Boughton Aluph - 11th November 2024 (Ashford District)

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to close part of A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington & Boughton Aluph from 11th November 2024, with estimated completion by 16th November 2024, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00.

The roads will be closed from the junction with The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Ashford Road, A252 Maidstone Road, A252 Canterbury Road, A251 Buck Street, A251 Faversham Road and A2042 Faversham Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works. These closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

National Highways - Temporary Road Closure - Sandyhurst Lane, Ashford - now 18th November 2024 with estimated completion by 2nd December (Ashford District)

Due to works planned to be undertaken by National Highways, it will be necessary to close part of Sandyhurst Lane, Ashford between the hours of 07.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge over the M20, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A20 Maidstone Road North of Drovers Roundabout (Maidstone Road), Simone Weil Roundabout (Drovers Roundabout), Fougeres Way, Junction 9 (Drovers Interchange), A251 Trinity Road, Faversham Road, Sandyhurst Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while repair and renewal works are undertaken by National Highways.
