The Parish Council is developing a Neighbourhood Plan to give residents a voice in how our community changes and grows in the years up to 2030. The boundary of Boughton Aluph and Eastwell parishes has been designated as the Neighbourhood Plan Area by Ashford Borough Council.
We have held a series of community meetings, exhibitions and surveys to engage with and seek the views of residents on what should be included in the Neighbourhood Plan and these views have been vital in ensuring the plan represents local opinions.
The Parish Council has set up a dedicated Neighbourhood Plan website at www.parishplan.uk where you can find our more about neighbourhood planning, follow our progress and add your views.
A six week public consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan, run by Ashford Borough Council concluded in autumn 2020.
Ashford Borough Council has collated the responses and appointed an independent examiner. The examination began in December 2020.
After the examination of the plan is published there will be a referendum (currently likely to be May 2021 according to COVID-19 legislation) on the plan.
