Wye Road
The Parish Council is aware of safety concerns following a recent road traffic collision on Wye Road. The safety of residents, pedestrians and road users around the Parish is of high importance to the Council.
Kent County Council is the Highways Authority, but the Parish Council has been working with KCC to suggest safety improvements to our local roads. The 20mph zone scheme was championed and recently funded by the Parish Council, and work on the Highways Improvement Plan is ongoing. This will include KCC providing two additional painted 20mph circles to make the zone more obvious to drivers joining the zone from the Faversham Road (due to be painted in early summer).
The fantastic local speedwatch volunteers in the Boughton Lees area have conducted sessions on Wye Road, as well as at other sites around the green. More volunteers are very welcome, more volunteers will mean even more sessions can be run (times to suit volunteers). More information on the scheme, along with information on the impact it has is available from Kent Police. People can also register directly (use the 'register' button and then 'join existing'). The Parish Clerk can also put you in contact with the scheme.
